32 years in the game. A name that commands respect from Norfolk to NYC. And a chance for me to create within the culture that raised me—hip-hop has always been in my DNA (shoutout to my talent show days 😅).

The challenge? Craft an identity as iconic as the man behind the decks. The solution? A bold monogram where the "L" and "B" merge into one powerful mark—versatile enough for vinyl sleeves, stage backdrops, and streetwear.

We created two aesthetic systems: a clean version for polished moments and a gritty, textured variant that brings that raw hip-hop energy. Battle Red + Black became the foundation. "The Heavy Hitter" tagline sealed the deal.

What I'm most proud of? This brand got LOVE—from the streets to the industry. When your work becomes part of a legend's legacy, that's humbling.

Balancing the work that feeds you and the work that sustains you.

This month’s speakers are Shanta Bunmi Jasper and Hezekiah Baylor, two multidisciplinary creatives who have spent years shaping their work across different spaces.

Many of us feel the pressure to define what kind of creative we are. But in reality, we’re often navigating both sides of the work.

This conversation explores that tension and what it looks like to move between creating for yourself and creating for others in a way that works for you.

Event Details

Doors open at 6:30 PM for a casual happy hour. Guests are welcome to arrive early, settle in, and connect with others in the room. Light bites will be available, and drinks can be purchased at the bar.

The program will begin promptly at 7:00 PM.

Tickets for The Shift are free, but space is limited to keep the experience intimate and participatory. Please only register if you plan to attend. If your plans change and you are unable to join us, we kindly ask that you release your ticket so another member of the community can take your place.
